Nationwide Homes Testimonials
It can be difficult to find a home builder you can trust with your special piece of land. That’s why, when choosing a builder, we encourage you to ask other people about their experiences. When you do ask around, you’ll find that most people who’ve built custom modular homes with us are very happy with the result. We constantly gather stories from our many customers and you can read some of them below.
Joe and I love our new Nationwide home. We cannot tell you how pleased we are with the entire process. Starting at the very beginning in your office planning our home to our final walk through, it could not have been easier or more pleasant. Every contractor that was on our property conducted themselves in a very professional manner and they did excellent work. In addition, they were all just nice people and comfortable to be with. You told us how easy the process would be and you were right.
We are pleased to say recently we had a home built by Nationwide Homes Smith Mountain Lake. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the building of our home. It was a totally great experience from the start to the finish.
Our first encounter with Skeeter at the Smith Mountain Lake office was professional and very positive. He is very knowledgeable and helped us put together a home that we will be very comfortable in for many years. The “Whitfiled” model with a raised roof and a 2 car garage was worked out flawlessly by Skeeter’s expertise in home design, it is beautiful. He spent many hours with us to make sure we were satisfied with the design. When the building began, we were informed as to the progress every step of the way by Skeeter.
Nationwide’s employees on the job site were very responsive to our questions, needs and wants. The Team is dependable, hard-working, committed to detail and courteous. Their quality of workmanship is excellent. Our entire experience with the Nationwide team could not have been better. We would certainly recommend Nationwide Homes to anyone looking to build.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you directly about my experiences that I have had with your staff over the past couple of weeks.
Firstly I want to say that Jon at the Arabi plant was a GREAT help and most assistive with the questions I had about the Nationwide process and in particular our first house.
Secondly John on the set crew was the most professional and efficient person that I have dealt with with what he has to do in a very short time frame.
Your PRO SET PLUS crew that did our home should be VERY highly commended. The efficiency and co-operation by John and his staff was absolutely beyond reproach. They did their jobs quickly, effectively, neatly AND cleaned up after themselves. Any builder that does NOT utilize your PRO SET PLUS program is making a HUGE mistake.
Your staff at Martinsville have literally bent over backwards to help us get the best design and functionality out of our houses. This has lead us to the present position of having SIX hot prospects for new and existing home owners as potential home buyers at HUNLEY WATERS.
In summation Nationwide Custom Homes has been a pleasure to work with. Thank you and your staff for all that you do.
I was a volunteer for the Extreme Makeover home for the Williams family and I want to say that every team member representing your company here was awesome! The home you built was top notch, and so was the team you sent was as well! It was thrilling to be a part of such blessed event, and a pleasure to work alongside such wonderful folks. Your company has to be one of the best to have such great team members!
My wife and I are very pleased with our new custom built home in Summerfield, NC. We like the large storage space in the attic. With 1666 Sq Ft I have never seen a home with that much space in the attic. And the electric outlets are so appreciated. There are plenty of them in every room. Just recently I noticed an extra outlet under the cabinet in the master bathroom. All has been well thought out. The ladies must have been involved in the planning of my home. I have had several homes built but have never experience such satisfaction in a home. The floors are level, and all the walls are plumb. And the cut-off valve in the storage room, where it is always nice and warm. Not on the outside but inside the house, where it is most convenient.
Everything is quality. The work and craftsmanship is outstanding. The materials used are top grade. From what I have seen in the last four months of ownership, everything is “top notch”.
I have built two site-built homes before, but Nationwide is my choice from now on. In my opinion Nationwide Custom Homes is the way to go in building.
Thank you for building us such a fine home and an enjoyable home.
We will have been in our Nationwide home six years next month. We just wanted to share how much we have enjoyed it. It is a well built home and a pleasure to live in.
Sometimes things work out better than imagined. When we started this project with Nationwide we, like most every home buyers, hoped that we made the right choice. Time has proven us correct. In fact, the entire process worked out smoother than we expected –
In 1994 we had a home stick built with a great builder and it was a very smooth, enjoyable process. This past project was equally pleasant and a bit quicker. Our home is also constructed, without doubt, more solidly. These 6 inch walls are great!
Our house was built with the materials we specified. This sort of commitment and integrity during tough times speaks volumes about Dennis and Nationwide. When small things were brought to Dennis’s attention, he has always moved swiftly and decisively to make things right.
It is refreshing, and reassuring, to work with people who honor their word and conduct their business with integrity.
Thanks for setting up the tour. The tour really impressed me with the superb quality of Nationwide’s construction. Seeing is believing. I am very confident that our home is extremely well built and crafted by people who take a lot of pride in their work.
We are extremely pleased with how it came out. We would definitely recommend Nationwide to anyone building a new home.
My family and I were delighted at the amount of options we were able to choose for our modular home. It was far more than what other builders were offering. We were able to get everything we wanted and more.
My wife and I could not be happier with the professional and friendly way that Bob Peters, Jim Lynham and Quentin Smalls have addressed our concerns and issues. I am especially appreciative of the way they have taken such a personal interest in our home and continue to do so. These men are caring professionals and are a credit to your company. Our home is beautiful and my family is thrilled to finally be “home.” Again I want to thank you and your company for meeting my family’s needs. Nationwide Custom Homes has a lifelong satisfied customer.
I waited a long time to make this happen. As a single mother, I didn’t think I could make the dream of having my own home a realty. My local builder and Nationwide made it happen. My boys and I are so extremely happy to be in a modular home of our own, just right down the block from their grandparents.
May we take this opportunity to thank Nationwide Homes for not just building another house, but our home. A special thanks to Bobby, Robert, and Quentin. We are very happy to have worked with you all.
I was a customer for Southeast Homes (Wendell Varnes) in 2010/2011. Mr. Varnes was referred to us through Nationwide Homes. The project was a 3/2 coastal, 2 story-2,100 square foot modular home built on piers.
We were building a part time home in South Carolina but our home state is Georgia. We were nervous about the process since we were out of state and not readily available to be on site. Mr. Varnes made this process very smooth and he was easy to work with. He would always interject his ideas and suggestions throughout the process. We only have to meet a couple of times throughout the entire process. We handled communication via the phone and/or email.
The modular home turned out beautifully and more importantly well built. The home was built to code and all permits and inspections were done with no issues. There were some “punch list” items as you will on any new construction and those items were taken care of timely.
Mr. Varnes has good solid employees/contractors that he uses for various stages such as plumbing, sheetrock, paint, electrical, roofing…etc. I personally met many of the subs at the job site and was very comfortable with them and their work.
Mr. Varnes still has a key to my home, even though it is done for some afterthought items I wanted to get done. I have full trust and confidence in him. Mr. Varnes is a man with integrity, ethics and morals and I highly recommend him for any construction job.
Thanks again for guiding me through the process of buying my first home. I appreciated your expertise, suggestions, patience, etc. Everybody I dealt with at Nationwide was professional and was glad to answer any questions throughout the home-buying process.
Jason and Barb Landrum would like to thank everyone at Nationwide Homes for all the work they have done to put us in a new home. On October 5th, 2009 we were awoke to the sound of a smoke detector and the smell of smoke. Escaping only with our pet Yorkie “BANDIT”. In the moments following we found ourselves homeless and unsure of were we would be from that point on.
In the days following we reviewed all our options such as trailers, double-wides, or rebuilding our burnt house. With nothing in hand from insurance we found out about modular homes. A friend told us about a factory in Zanesville, Ohio. After arriving at the plant we learned they were closed. While turning around we saw a 12″ x 12″ sign that said modular homes. After calling we found out it was Nationwide Homes. The price of their modular homes was our of range for what we could afford. Returning back home we received a phone call from a gentleman by the name of Mitch Salem. After telling him about our situation, Mr. Salem told us he thought he could help. And help he did. For about 2 weeks we stayed in contact going over options and plans. Finally, one Sunday afternoon he came over and showed us a plan that not only could we afford, but they would have us in possibly by Christmas 2009. Within six weeks on our house burning the work had begun.
What Nationwide has done goes way beyond business. We were total strangers before the fire, but after the smoke cleared, we will be friends for life.
On Sunday, January 4th, Steve and I lost our home and all its contents to a chimney fire. A month later, after going through all the roller coaster emotions related to the disaster, we found ourselves in a car with our friends, Valery and Jeff. They were taking us to Williamsburg Square in Frazeysburg, Ohio to look at factory crafted houses. Truly, Steve and I were not too sure about nontraditional stick built houses, but we tried to be open minded.
After a tour of the onsite houses, agent Scott Richards showed us the rendition of a Nationwide Custom house, the Haywood II. Steve and I looked at each other and said “we could live in this one”, as we were so impressed with it.
A few weeks later, we met with Mark Kelly at the Nationwide Design Center in Jeffersonville, Ohio. Mark spent hours showing us the many features and choices available to us from the outside siding to the inside door knobs. He encouraged us to travel to Martinsville, VA to see the factory and our new house.
On June 5th, we met with Tommy Rakes who guided us through the Virginia factory; then we saw our house. We were so impressed with both!!
The big day finally arrived; June 18th, our house was set on our basement foundation and on August 20th, we slept in our beautiful new Nationwide “home”.
It was an amazing experience, thanks Williamsburg Square and Nationwide Custom Homes for building our house, while we healed emotionally and rebuilt our “home”.
My wife and I had already chosen to build the “Tradition” with Lew Combs at Cornerstone Home Builders Inc. on our property in Chesterfield, VA before the event, but couldn’t resist the chance to see our home in the plant being constructed. We took the plant tour and our home was about half way through the process. I am Nationwide’s biggest advocate in our local area and after seeing the process up close, I really don’t know why one would choose to build any other way. It literally is Henry Ford’s assembly line all over again.
The build is a fulfillment of a lifelong dream of mine as it will be located on our property which has been handed down for five generations. We feel we are not just building a house, but a home that will become a part of our legacy and a permanent part of the landscape on our family farm. Thank you for helping to make that possible.
I just wanted to write and tell you how much we appreciate everything that you all are doing to accommodate our wishes and requests and everything that you all are doing to get us into our home as soon as possible. When the issue about the windows came up, to tell the truth, I was disturbed about it, BUT your concern for our satisfaction and your clear expression that our happiness was your priority was such a great consolation and relief. Nationwide continues to prove over and over again through people like you, Linda, Dawn, Darrell and all of Nationwide’s contractors and through its superior product, excellent service, and concern for customer satisfaction, why they were the best choice to build our home.
We would like to share with you our exceptional experience as repeat (two-time) Nationwide customers.
Eight years ago, we had the pleasure and satisfaction of building our first Nationwide Home with an independent builder. It was a recent job relocation that placed us in the position of having to sell that home and needing to acquire a new home and we knew that we wanted to build again. Although, we did consider the competition and explored our options with other builders, it was our first meeting with the staff at the Smith Mountain Lake office that made such an indelible impression that we were confident that Nationwide was the best and only choice to build our home again. The personal attention that Len Patridge, Linda DePierro, and Dawn Lane gave our family of 8 (2 parents and 6 kids) was remarkable. Having to drive over an hour to get to the office, we arrived less than an hour from closing. Without regard for time or consideration for their own personal commitments or obligations, they reached out to our family and patiently spent two hours listening to our needs and working with us to come up with a home that fit our family and budget. It was their knowledge, experience, and insight that guided and assured us that we would indeed have the dream home that we were looking for.
In addition, the commitment and devotion they brought to building our home made us realize and know that we weren’t just another “job” to them, but it made us constantly aware that they were working solely on our behalf and in our best interest. We were living in our camper during our entire homebuilding process, and Darrell Craig, our construction manager, made it his personal mission to get our family into “permanent” housing and in our home for the holidays. His coordinated efforts and diligence got us into our new home in less than two months from the time they broke ground.
Truly, the people who work from the Smith Mountain Lake office are extraordinary people and are a rare find. They are the type of people who represent companies well, give their companies a good reputation, and make their companies great. And when individuals like them, go above and beyond the call of duty and go the “extra mile” to get the job done, it is our personal belief that it would be inexcusable not to commend them and “give honor to whom honor is due.” We will forever consider the staff and contractors at the SML office our family friends, and should the need arise to build yet another home, there is no doubt to whom we will turn to get the job done.
We are also taking the liberty of sending a picture of our new Nationwide Home, and it is our hope that you would take comfort in knowing that we have been well served by your company representatives at Smith Mountain Lake.
David and I could not have been more pleased with Nationwide Homes. From the very beginning, we were treated wonderfully by BJ Lankford, a salesperson at Nationwide. She always answered our phone calls and/or texts no matter when or what time it was. Quinton Small, our construction supervisor, did more than we could have every imagined. He was always willing to help us in anyway possible. We are thrilled with our beautiful home and highly recommend Nationwide Homes!
It was great to meet you and Bill Jr. yesterday at the Nationwide modular home plant. It was our incredible luck to arrive on a day that you were there! We both appreciate the time you spent with us to educate us on Nationwide’s product and your building services. The plant tour was impressive, I can’t think of a better way to build a house. We were both surprised at the quality of the standard hardware, cabinets, materials etc. Once we are able to digest all the information we gathered on our trip, we will have a better idea of how to move forward.
We absolutely LOVE our home and never imagined the quality would be so good. This home surpassed anything that we had imagined. We are hoping to build another home in approx. 15 years and will definitely be choosing another Nationwide modular home.
Our experience with Nationwide has been great right from the start. My wife and I had never built a home before so we had a lot of questions about the process. Our nationwide representative, Mark Kelly was very patient with us and explained a lot of things several times just so we could understand how things worked. He made it easy to put together a package that worked wonderfully for us.
We were amazed at how quickly the house was at the site after we placed the order and even more amazed to see that it was set in just one day. We are now living happily in our Whitfield Cape while some of our friends who started building at the same time are still several months away from moving in. Nationwide has been great to work with and the quality of their homes is spectacular. I can’t imagine that we would move out of our home any time in the next several years, but if we did, we would look to Nationwide for our next home as well.
Thank you for all your efforts towards making my coastal house a reality. As you know, the coastal area of south Tallahassee, Florida is isolated from major building supply houses, accommodations, and food services – thus complicating the demands of labor. It is for these reasons and more that I chose to use Nationwide Custom Homes. Not only did the house arrive equipped to handle the high wind conditions of the area, but also afforded me with a nearly – completed home on the first day.
I appreciate your time in teaching me about your company’s product and used the knowledge to design the perfect coastal home for our family. The impact to the local environment was minimal and the house never received a drop of rain inside. We considered other systems-built manufacturing plants in the Southeast, and chose Nationwide Custom Homes for the quality of product, sales knowledge and engineering support.
We met with Mark Day and couldn’t be happier. Mark spent a ton of time with Ruth and I and answered all of our questions. Mark should get a raise for the way we were treated. Bob Loflin and Mark Day are the reason we are buying a Nationwide home. I am very, very impressed with your entire staff. Great people and very customer service oriented. I have worked for another competitor and would recommend Nationwide over any other modular on the market. Very impressed with the staff, construction, and customer follow up. We will be placing our order hopefully this month. We have our home under contract and just need to close a couple of items to push towards closing.
We’re looking forward to a long relationship with Nationwide.
My wife and I had our “walk through” with Dennis Mercier this morning, yes, New Year’s Eve. I realize that 2008 has been a difficult year in all aspects of our economy. However, even during those difficult times, our house was delivered approximately 30 days after we signed a contract with Nationwide and it was completed in just 4 weeks after it was delivered, including the holidays. From start to finish, it was only 2 months, wow!
What attracted my wife and I to Nationwide was not just the home itself, but that we were dealing directly with a Nationwide representative. It instilled confidence in the working relationship throughout the process.
I just wanted to let you know that it has been a pleasure working with Dennis and we wanted to express our appreciation for his customer service and helpfulness throughout the process.
I had worked out the financing ahead of time and I knew that every week I could save was real money. I had a neighbor who was building a house at the same time and it took six months. Five months of savings was huge. It helped us get into a modular house we could afford.
My husband and I were transferred from England to Virginia. We were in a time crunch. The new school year was approaching. We met our deadline and were able to get into our beautiful, brand-new Nationwide modular home in about a third of the time than if we had used conventional on-site construction.
Hello- Justin and I would like to thank you again for all that you have done for us and we are very very pleased with our NEW Nationwide Custom home. We love it! Thanks again and hope you have more customers to buy a Glendale!!!!
As a building inspector for the city of Key West, Florida, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality construction methods and building materials used in the modular home. Nationwide Custom Homes and my local contractor, Bob, did an excellent job. My wife and I are very glad we made the decision to build a Nationwide home.
